The Unceremonious.

The Informal City, I view the city balancing the natural composition of a place, be it anywhere. Its self explanatory in the sense of being naturalistic. Shivajinagar is one of its apt example to get a better understanding! Between so much of chaos and not-so- spatial settlement their still rests the hidden beauty of relaxation .Its the beauty which is ignored by all. Their also lies a unique perspective of people, their way of doing things .Their way of perceiving things! And it’s creative in its own way. In Shivajinagar we see bonding of various religions which we see no where these days in the formal lands. My experience in ‘Shivaji-informal-nagar’ was something I never expected! From outside everything seems to lag behind, still in the past, but when one gets inside and simply observe what’s happening ?and why ?
-Its only then the true picture comes out that the city in itself (Shivajinagar) has its own values and even have an emotional side to everything. Maybe they don’t have perfection in their picture but the imperfection is priceless.

In relation to art and design to the informal and the formal, I would relate it to the play of balance in composition. As a composition has its own heavy and light parts so is the play of informal and the formal city, where both balance each other. When one stands out for its systematic and rigid existence, the other one stands for its easy going and simple life.
